Fall Baking Starts with Apples

I love baking with apples this time of year. As soon as the mornings start to feel crisp, I’m hauling home bags of Honeycrisps and Granny Smiths, dreaming up all the cozy desserts I can make. I love the way the kitchen smells when cinnamon and sugar hit warm apples, and how a simple crumble or pie can turn an ordinary day into something special.

I also love that apple desserts are almost impossible to mess up. Even the most rustic, thrown together crisp tastes like you spent all afternoon baking. Whether I’m making something classic like a pie or experimenting with a new cake, apple desserts always feel like fall to me, warm, nostalgic, and worth every sweet bite.
